The Tree, the Tomb, and the Throne: Resurrection, Reconciliation, and the Reign of Christ

Closing Charge for the Whole Series

“We are resurrection people.
We are holistic ministers.
We live between Eden and eternity.
Let us walk in divine dependence, build communion, and live like the tomb is empty and the throne is occupied.”

Day 1: The Tree of Life — From Eden to Gethsemane

Reflection:
In Eden, two trees stood before humanity: the Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Humanity chose autonomy over divine dependence. But in another garden—Gethsemane—Jesus reversed Eden’s rebellion with these words:

“Not my will, but yours be done.” — Matthew 26:39
“This is my body, given for you.” — Luke 22:19
“He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree.” — 1 Peter 2:24

Spiritual Application:
We must live by divine dependence, not human autonomy. The fruit of the Tree is Christ Himself—relationship, not rebellion.

Call to Action:
Today, surrender an area of life where you’ve been choosing autonomy over communion with God. Pray: “Not my will, but Yours be done.”

Day 2: The Tomb — Death Defeated From the Inside Out

Reflection:
The Tomb is not just where Jesus lay; it’s where death itself was defeated.
Jesus entered death fully, and rose in a glorified, incorruptible body.

“It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power.” — 1 Corinthians 15:42-49
“Through death he destroyed the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil.” — Hebrews 2:14

Spiritual Application:
Your dead places—your failures, griefs, regrets—are not the end. Christ can resurrect what feels buried forever.

Call to Action:
Name one area in your life that feels dead or hopeless. Speak resurrection over it today: “Lord, breathe life where death once ruled.”

Day 3: The Throne — Christ Enthroned, The Lamb Victorious

Reflection:
Resurrection wasn’t the end—enthronement was the fulfillment.
The Lamb who was slain now reigns:

“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain…” — Revelation 5:12
“He must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.” — 1 Corinthians 15:25

Spiritual Application:
Christ reigns now. Our allegiance belongs to Him—not to fear, not to culture, not to earthly kingdoms.

Call to Action:
Spend time today declaring that Jesus is King over your life, your city, your family. Write it down or proclaim it aloud.

Day 4: Resurrection — New Creation Bursting Forth

Reflection:
The Resurrection isn’t just about Jesus coming back to life—it’s about a new creation erupting inside the old one.

“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation…” — 2 Corinthians 5:17
“Christ the firstfruits, then at His coming, those who belong to Him.” — 1 Corinthians 15:23

Spiritual Application:
You are not just saved from death—you are reborn into life. Live like resurrection is your new DNA.

Call to Action:
Do something today that reflects your new creation identity: an act of generosity, forgiveness, or hope that only resurrection people can live out.

Day 5: Reconciliation — Healing the Divide

Reflection:
Resurrection isn’t just personal—it’s communal.
Through the Cross and Resurrection, Christ reconciled divided humanity.

“For He Himself is our peace… and has broken down the dividing wall of hostility.” — Ephesians 2:14
“To reconcile to Himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven.” — Colossians 1:20

Spiritual Application:
We are called to be ministers of reconciliation—agents of healing in a fractured world.

Call to Action:
Reach out today to someone you are distant from. Extend forgiveness or offer encouragement. Step toward reconciliation.

Day 6: Dominion Without Domination — Living the New Humanity

Reflection:
God’s original intent was dominion, not domination. Sin corrupted stewardship into exploitation.
In Christ, dominion is redeemed:

“The creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.” — Romans 8:19-21
“For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body.” — 1 Corinthians 12:13

Spiritual Application:
True Kingdom power is humble stewardship. Use your influence to serve, not to control.

Call to Action:
Use your voice, resources, or platform today to lift someone else up. Steward your gifts for the healing of others.

Day 7: Between the Trees — Living Toward the Throne

Reflection:
We live between two Trees:

  • The Tree of Eden (lost)

  • The Tree of Life in Revelation (restored)

The future is already breaking into now.

“We shall see Him as He is… and we shall be like Him.” — 1 John 3:2
“The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.” — Revelation 22:2

This is captivity theology lived out: liberation from death, restoration of creation, resurrection people living toward eternity.

Spiritual Application:
Our life now should be shaped by the future we’re moving toward. Live today like heaven is already touching earth.

Call to Action:
Pray and act today with eternity in view. Choose one thing that aligns your life closer to the reality of the Kingdom.
