Day 1: Isaiah 61:1–3 (Old Testament) Scripture: “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor…” Isaiah’s prophecy foreshadows Jesus’ mission of liberation. It reminds us that God’s heart is for the poor, the brokenhearted, and the captives. Identify one way you can bring hope to someone in need today. Day 2: Luke 4:18–19 (Gospel) Scripture: “He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind…” Jesus’ mission is holistic—addressing both spiritual and physical needs. Volunteer at a local shelter or food bank. Day 3: Matthew 25:31–46 (Gospel) Scripture: “Whatever you did for one of the least of these, you did for me.” Jesus identifies with the marginalized. Our acts of compassion are acts of worship. Donate to a ministry that serves the poor. Day 4: James 2:1–9 (Letters to the Churches) Scripture: “Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith?” G...

Finding God in the Powers

Image
Day 1: Creation and Intention 📖 Genesis 1:27–28; Colossians 1:16; John 1:3 From the beginning, God made all things good—including the powers and authorities. Their purpose was order, flourishing, and life. Ask God to renew your vision of creation’s original goodness. Take time today to thank Christ as Creator of everything—seen and unseen. Day 2: The Fall and Rebellion 📖 Genesis 3:1–6; Romans 5:12; Matthew 4:8–9 Sin corrupted God’s design. Powers meant for good now enslave through deception and rebellion. Where do you see bondage in your own life or in your community? Bring one of those areas before God today and confess where the enemy has gained ground. Day 3: Personal Bondage 📖 Psalm 18:4–6; Ephesians 2:1–3; Mark 5:1–13 Powers often attack individuals—through destructive habits, oppression, or inner battles. But God delivers. Pray for freedom—for yourself or for someone you love. Share a testimony of how God has set you free. Your story might unlock hope for someone else. Day 4: ...

Day 1: God Is Silent—But Why? 📖 1 Samuel 28:5–6 🔍 Reflection: Saul’s desperation began with silence. Are there areas in your life where impatience is leading you outside of divine dependence? 🙏 Prayer: God, help me wait when You are quiet. Flood me with trust, not fear. Day 2: Forbidden Channels 📖 Leviticus 19:31; Deuteronomy 18:10–12 🔍 Reflection: Israel’s holiness meant forsaking pagan practices. In today’s culture, what “mediums” do we justify consulting—prosperity, platforms, power? 🙏 Prayer: Reveal and remove anything I listen to more than You. Day 3: False Light, True Voice 📖 2 Corinthians 11:13–15 🔍 Reflection: Even Satan masquerades as light. Not every “inspiration” is from God. 🙏 Prayer: Equip me with discernment to distinguish good from godly. Day 4: Narcissism or Neighbor? 📖 2 Timothy 3:1–5 🔍 Reflection: Paul warns of a self-centered religion. What parts of me reflect culture more than the cross? 🙏 Prayer: Transform my love of self into love for truth. Da...

Finding God In Your Nazareth

Image
A 7-Day Devotional by Bishop Raymond Rivera “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” (John 1:46) Sometimes the greatest move of God begins in the most unexpected place—right in your own neighborhood, your own house, your own life. This devotional journey invites you to rediscover the sacred in what feels familiar, ordinary, even dismissed. For seven days, let’s seek God in the overlooked corners of our world—and our hearts. Day 1: Homegrown Glory Scripture: “A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown…” – Matthew 13:57 Jesus was overlooked in Nazareth—not because He lacked power, but because people thought they already knew Him. Familiarity can blind us to glory. God often works through the people and places closest to us, yet we miss it because it looks… ordinary. Journal about someone close to you—a family member, friend, neighbor—who quietly inspires you through faith, resilience, or love. Reach out and affirm them today. Let them know you see the glory in them. Day 2: ...
