7-Day Devotional Blog: Liberty to the Captives

Day 1: Isaiah 61:1–3 (Old Testament) Scripture: “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor…” Isaiah’s prophecy foreshadows Jesus’ mission of liberation. It reminds us that God’s heart is for the poor, the brokenhearted, and the captives. Identify one way you can bring hope to someone in need today. Day 2: Luke 4:18–19 (Gospel) Scripture: “He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind…” Jesus’ mission is holistic—addressing both spiritual and physical needs.
